Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles, connective tissue, and nerves that form the base of your core and support your bladder, bowel, uterus, and sexual function. When it's working well, you barely think about it. When it isn't, it can quietly (or not so quietly) affect nearly every aspect of your daily life.
Pelvic floor dysfunction is remarkably common in women, yet it remains one of the most underdiagnosed and undertreated areas of women's health. Many women spend years managing symptoms they've been told are normal, not realizing that effective, lasting treatment exists.
At Find Your Way Mama, pelvic floor physical therapy is not a side service; it is our entire focus, and we bring over 15 years of specialized expertise to every single unique, hour-long session.
Pelvic floor PT looks different here. And that's intentional.
Pelvic floor dysfunction does not discriminate by age or life stage. It affects numerous women who lead incredibly different lifestyles. However, just because it’s a common occurrence doesn’t mean it’s something you should simply learn to deal with.
You may benefit from pelvic floor physical therapy if you are experiencing:
Urinary leaking with activity, laughing, sneezing, or urgency
Frequent trips to the bathroom or difficulty making it in time
Pelvic pressure, heaviness, or the sensation that something is falling out
Chronic pelvic pain or discomfort
Painful intercourse or difficulty with penetration
Constipation, straining, or bowel urgency
Low back, hip, or tailbone pain that hasn't resolved
Core weakness or a disconnected feeling in your midsection
Symptoms that developed during or after pregnancy, or even years later
Pelvic floor dysfunction doesn't always announce itself loudly. Sometimes it shows up as a subtle disconnection from your body, a nagging discomfort you've normalized, or a limitation you've quietly built your life around.
Whatever your experience, it is valid, and it is treatable.

Every treatment journey begins with a thorough one-hour initial evaluation. We take time to understand your full history, your pregnancies and births, your symptoms, your lifestyle, and your goals, before any hands-on work begins.
This conversation matters as much as the physical assessment, because true healing requires understanding the whole person, not just the presenting complaint.
Physical assessment may include evaluations of:
• Posture
• Movement patterns
• Hip and lumbar mobility
• Abdominal wall integrity
• And more
The pelvic floor assessment will be performed with your full consent. We can assess the pelvic floor externally as well as internally to assess for muscle quality, strength, range of motion and coordination. We also assess the nerves and circulation in this area as well.
Pelvic floor PT at Find Your Way Mama is never passive. Every session includes direct, hands-on treatment tailored to what your body needs that day.
Our safe and natural therapies may include:
• Internal and external pelvic floor release
• Myofascial work
• Visceral mobilization
• Scar tissue treatment
• Joint mobilization
• Soft tissue techniques targeting the hips, spine, and abdomen
• Cupping
You will never simply be handed a sheet of exercises and sent on your way.
Exercise is a powerful tool when it's the right exercise, at the right time, for the right body.
We prescribe targeted movement progressions that:
• Rebuild pelvic floor strength
• Restore core coordination
• Improve posture and alignment
• Progressively load the body back toward the activities you love
Programs are realistic, manageable, and evolve as you do.
Note that improving your body in a healthy way may not leave room for your pre-baby body or a bounce-back plan. In fact, we discourage that kind of discussion and belief, as your body has drastically changed.
The goal is to regain comfort, strength, and integrity. Your success should not be determined by the number on the scale or fitting into a pair of jeans. We’ll help you to understand this and provide the encouragement you’re looking for.
For women dealing with pelvic pain, C-section scarring, or postpartum inflammation, we offer near-infrared light therapy using a specialized pelvic wand and wrap.
This evidence-supported modality helps reduce pain and inflammation, accelerate tissue healing, and complement hands-on treatment, giving your body every possible advantage in the recovery process.
What you eat and drink directly impacts your pelvic floor. Bladder irritants, inadequate hydration, bowel habits, and nutritional patterns all contribute to pelvic floor function.
Dr. Arielle will integrate practical guidance in these areas into your treatment plan because addressing only the physical without the lifestyle context leaves meaningful progress on the table.
For women who benefit from small-group support alongside their individual sessions, our Core Restore classes offer a structured, progressive approach to rebuilding core and pelvic floor function in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.
Our classes are appropriate for postpartum women and those managing pelvic floor dysfunction who have been cleared for group exercise participation.
Pelvic floor dysfunction rarely travels alone. It often shows up alongside other musculoskeletal issues, hormonal shifts, or life transitions, which is why our treatment approach never focuses on a single symptom in isolation.
Below is a snapshot of the conditions we most commonly treat.
Stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence
Pelvic organ prolapse
Chronic pelvic pain

Diastasis recti
Postpartum recovery (vaginal and cesarean)
